Down the Club

Working mens clubs are on the decline across the UK. Once a community hub; gentrification, bargain basement booze and little interest from the younger generation who would have once stepped into their parents club going shoes, their members are rapidly dwindling. Dunston Social Club—The Clav—has lost 200 members in 3 years through them not actually being able to make it the club, or they have passed away. Still, they are community driven. The Clav hosts a number of events: weekly singers in the lounge, a Rock n Roll dance night twice a month, and their concert room hosts bands, parties and weddings, along side the main stay of bingo and dominoes.
